Let’s be honest, we all have needs and we all want to get our needs met. It’s in our interest to find people and resources that fulfill our greatest needs, both internally and externally. With that said, when you are trying to connect with others and build a relationship with them, you must keep in mind what their needs are. What is most important to them? Why would they even listen to what you have to say? What’s in it for them? When you know these answers, you can communicate in a way that addresses what they need and want most. This way they will be more interested, engaged, and vested in the relationship as well as the desired outcome. Happy Connecting with Others by Serving Their Needs!
